straight pipes

so yea im in a welding class, and for projects ima start making a buncha straight pipes for 4rth 5th and 6th gens...there only gunna cost about $25 to make plus harware and gsakets, so im thinking abotu selling em to you people on here..probably be about $40-$50, the most itll be is about $60 shipped
id also be able to make them in any size 1.75, 2.0,2.25 +( id do that becuase if you put a 2.25 on a stock exhaust system itll be restrictinve once it connects form the header to the exhuast...you wanna match the exuasht or smaller) i.e. my header is 1.75 when it meets the cat, then my straight pipe is 2.00 and my exhuast is 2.25....you could put a 2.00 staright pipe but i like opening it up gradualy instead of just from 1.75 to 2.25....
just wondering how many of you would be interested, itll come with gaskets and bolts, and will bolt directly up to where your stock cat was, no grinding, no welding, nothing, they will be made out of stainless steel... if theres more than 5 of you ill make em the cost will probably be like
$35-40 for a 1.75
$40-45 for a 2.00
$45-50 for a 2.25
the more poeple that do it the less it will be, these are (about) what the pirces would be if 7 poeple did this...its cheaper with the more poeple beucase i can buy longer pipe, and bigger sheets of steel for the flanges
tell me what you guys think
and IM NOT LOOKING FOR PROFIT, im only looking to break even for the materials, shipping boxes. shipping and cost of gas to drive to the ups store (about 10 miles away)
i just need a project to do for welding, but i have to make a few of them to pass the project so i figured this would be a good idea
fyi in a couple of weeks we have to do a bigger project, if this goes through ill be making turbo manifold w DP's and exhuast systems minus the mufflers that will bolt right up

if you made them for 3rd gens I would be interested =P but not untill i get my project car... If you do move on to manifolds how much would you charge to make a custom manifold for a 2ZZ that is set up longitudinal?

i wouldnt be able to make tubular syle yet, plus they wont look very appealing, i cant send them out to get chromed unless its for a ridiculous amount of money
maily theyd be like the ones on ebay, and as for the now only manifold s i would make is like the ones you see on ebay but id only sell em for about $150 for whatever adapter plate you wanted
and i could make you a straight pipe for a 3rd gen, just send a pic of what the flange looks like and take a few measurments nad id be able to make it

1.75, and no the pipes i would make would just replace the stock catalytic converter, mabe in the future i would be able to make cat back exhuasts but as of now i just need to complete a project and i figured this would be a good one

no worries on the chrome, there's a place near by that does that type of stuff or they can do ceramic coating.

oh so just a cat delete pipe. id still take one though. wouldnt you want it the same size as stock? wouldnt it make a bootleneck if it opened up and then went back to small?

yes thats why i said size would be dependant on your setup...
i.e. someone with stock exhuast would want a 1.75 inch staright pipe
someone like me with 2.25 from the cat back would either want 2.0 or 2.25

Do you know if they will work on a gt4??? I wouldn't mind some extra hp with a test pipe, rather than a 14 yr old clogged cat!!!

yes ill be able to make em for you gt4....id assume its the same as the st and gt but ill try to find out, if push come to shove just go under the car and go under your gt, if they look the same w same flanges and same lengths, then yes, if there not, all youd have to do is take a couple measurments and id be able to make it
fyi i just passed my cutting certification last night, in certifyed in oxyacetylene cutting and natural gas cutting
im WAYYYYY better with the acetylene, the acetylene, you can cut faster with and its easyer to cut, but it dosent look as good. the natural gas takes longer, its alot harder to find out if your at a neutral flame, and it cant cut through as big of stuff.
