i have a stock 1995 talon and i intend on sending it to a performance shop to get worked on

I wanna do bigger turbo t3/t4?
AM Header
full 3 inch downpipe/exhuast
fronmount intercooler
SAFC II install

what kind of wheel HP can i expect? like what is the highest yet SAFE HP on stock internals?

any other suggestions

the stock motor is good for about 400-450 depending on the condition of it.

no.

Some people HAVE squeezed 400 out of the stock motor, but its once in a blue moon. Push that much hp on a stock 2g 7 bolt and you will blow your engine almost gaurenteed. Bearings were not that good on the 2gs, rods were weaker, and the engine is prone to crankwalk. Dont bother with a "header" your stock 2g exhaust manifold is good until you get a huge turbo...Safe hp for the stock block should usually be around 340whp....anything over that and you are pushing the stock internals pretty hard. The amount of boost you run to acheive these power levels will depend entirely on the turbo you chose. For 16g, you will be running it at 22+ psi to get 340whp, on some good gas. For a bigger turbo, you will run less psi, eg 50 trim probably 17~19psi for 325-240whp. Proper supporting mods and a damn good tune required.

Try a small turbo upgrade first, you may find that it will satisfy your need for speed. 16g knocked my socks off after tearing off the hair dryer t25.

Estimate ~300whp with supporting mods and great tune on a 16g on street boost.

500 whp has been done before on stock motor and, thats why i said 400 450 that was at the crank..

500whp is possable. not probably. becasue of lack skill.

The 6 bolt motors are doing 550+ whp all day long. SOme 7 bolts have also done 550 whp and 10 second passes, but most poeple stop at 450-500 whp on small rod motors. Saying anything else/quoting psi numbers is probably spreading misinformation. ;)

My only problem that i have with this car is that is an auto tranny.....how much can my tranny hold?

People that do a shift kit and end clutches say the tranny will do 400-450 whp without further mods, reliably. Beyond that most poeple are sending the tranny out to avoid blowing it up. www.importperformancetrans.com (I might have the URL wrong, its IPT) is the most common rebuilder I would say. And I believe the 3 9 second auto cars that I am aware of are using them.

Do you feel that i can reliably push 350 on my stock auto trans!

Yes, but when you get to that point you want to start thinking about upgrading. It can only take so much punishment before it inevitably goes out.

Is this already a turbo car? You say in your post that you want to go with a bigger turbo so I assume it is already turbo. Regardless of what anyone says, pushing high horsepower will always compromise reliability assuming all else being equal. You have to find what level you can live with. The condition of the motor is also critical to the horsepower it can handle. If things such as oil changes weren't done on a regular consistant basis, you will in general see less reliability. In the end you will have to compromise one or the other.

A T3/T4 will generally take longer to spool up than something like a Big 16G. If you don't plan on building up the internals you won't need anything bigger than that.

Depends entirely on the trim specs on the t3/t4. t3/t4 doesnt mean you have a big turbo...you could have a tiny t3/t4, or a huge one...16g is a good turbo....
