95 cutlas supreme belt

Is there any chance that i can get a shorter belt and bypass my ac compresser? It is shot and making a heck of a racket, i don't want the pully to seize and break the belt. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Its a little more involved than just a shorter belt, you still need something to hold the belt against the water pump.
