timing belt

my warranty just went out on my car, i have a 2002 kia rio cinco, i bought used from a non kia dealership and kia dealer wants tocharge an arm and a leg because i didn't buy it from them. my question is how do i adjust the timing or locate the markings to set the belt. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anybody
