I'm looking at installing a shift kit in my '02 (5.3L with a 4L60E). Of course I want more power with better miledge. I also tow a 20' travel trailer (only about 3-4 X's a year). So who out there is dialed in on the tranny stuff can help guide me in the right direction as to a good kit to install? I also have a Vette Servo on the way and will install as well. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Transgo is the only way to go on shift kits, IMO. Also look into getting a larger tranny cooler. The stock one alone doesn't do that great, and high temps are 4l60e killers!!!!

Transgo makes both a Shift Kit and a Reprogramming Kit. I really do not know what the difference is; however, based on advise from a tranny builder, I installed the reprogramming kit in my 96 Impala SS (Transgo Part # 4L60E-HD2). The reprogramming kit is more heavy duty/high performance.
I was very happy with the results of the reprogramming kit.

:iagree: go with the HD2 from Transgo
I so happen to have one new in the box  I will let go for $100 shipped with vette servo or $90 shipped w/o servo....

replace the 3 pinned accumulator pistons with pinless aluminum and replace the seperator plate with a hardened on
pistons you can get fron sonnax (forward, 2nd and 4 th accumalator pistons, 2nd and 4th are same part number) the plate you can get from transgo
