new engine

im having to replace my engine on my 99 gp gt and i was wondering if anyone knew a good place to find one (Clearwater, Fl area) and if i could put a supercharged engine in without any modifications?

GM Goodwrench or Performance parts will usually sell long/short blocks for all their engines. Usually their prices are pretty reasonable and you can order them or get them through a dealer. Unlike buying parts at GM list price, you won't get reamed when you buy an engine from GM.

If you are looking for a used engine try car-part.com or cherry-auto.com. Car part will let you search yards in Florida, Cherry Auto will find the specific engine you are looking for and the offer warranties.

you can put a supercharged 3.8 in, but you will have to also get the HD tranny and passenger side axle thats factory with the L67 (supercharged 3.8) and you will also need a GTP PCM(computer) and wiring harness, or buy the adapters you need from www.zzperformance.com to convert your existing GT harness into a GTP harness. I did the swap with mine, I have a 2000 GT and i put in the motor and transmission from a 1999 GTP. But i also put a bigger cam, heavy duty pushrods, LS6 valve springs, and performance hydralic lifters. If your interested in doing the swap check out www.l67swap.com that site really helped me out with all the questions that i had. And they have very detailed write ups on how to put an L67 into almost any GM car.
