Bosch Plugs

Folks, I have Bosch Platimun 4 plugs in my 2000 Camry 4. Does anyone know how long they are supposed to last?

My son has over 80,000 on his '99 camry 4 using Bosch plat 4 plugs with no problems. Being "pure" platinum I would estimate at least 100,000. "Click" on the performance guarantee on this site.

Not very long. The spark from them will get weaker over time. Normally there is a big differance between 0, 5000, 10000 miles.
Nippon Denso (Toyota parts division) ignitions don't work well with Bosch plugs, and American plugs in general (Autolite, Champion, etc). They also have weak performance with split electrodes.
Generic plugs 30-60,000 miles.
Platinum plugs should last 60,000 miles.
Iridium 80-120,000 miles.
Stick to NGK, or Nippon Denso spark plugs.
The base generic models are routinely on sale for $1-$1.50usd a plug & last the 60-90,000 miles specified between tune-ups.
You can also shell out $12-15usd a plug for Iridiums. The problem with Iridiums is the cost VS lifespan. Because of how bad carbon build-up is in these engine's (most in general) you never get to that last 1/3 of the lifespan before you *need* to take the plugs out & knock the build-up off them.
Which begs the question, "Why spend 10-15x as much on plugs that you still have to take out?".
But the moral of the story is throw the plugs you have away & buy some NGK, or ND plugs.
