Considering a performance chip for my '05 Dakota, 3.7L stock engine.Anyone done this or reprogrammed factory onboard computer without any problems? Local Dodge dealership service shop manager tells me Dodge will have a chip available early 2006.Anybody have any input?

The other aftermarket places like Hypertech & Superchips don't offer any mods for the 3.7 yet. I'm sure in the next few months or so, it will come out. It's all based on the popularity of the motor and the feedback they receive from owners. They have lots of stuff for the 5.7 HEMI and the 4.7.

Kennebell used to make a engine optimizer (+17hp) and supercharger setup and for the 3.7 Jeep Liberty, but discontinued it because of low interest. You may be able to convince them to bring out a kit for 3.7 Dakota (same engine) based on the popularity of modding the Dak and they have already done the research once.
