I came on this site by chance and thought alright a cool site to ask some questions to fellow GP owners. My mistake cause all I get is people telling me I am wrong on my opion and to buy a Import because I want something diffrent. An IMPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R u guys really GP enthusists or not. I was with a car club called MIGPC and that would be the last thing we would ever tell a new or long term GP owner!!!!!!! I tried too help an owner on a race and just got told that what I thought or have expericened was crap according to numbers and graphs. I wanted to talk to fellow GP racers because we do what they say can't be done. All I have herd on this board is what you CAN'T do. Well sorry my vocabulary as a GP owner doesn't include CAN'T or IMPORT. So I want to say SORRY for bothering you all.

The only two threads you've ever posted is about racing a modified Honda and asking about a ground effects kit for your GP. I saw no evidence of any one arguing your opinion, but if what you want isn't out there, do you want us to lie to you to make you feel better? On the race topic, some people said you'd lose, some said you'd be close. They warned you that if you couldn't afford to lose, don't race, because if the Honda was well modified and your car wasn't, you'd get smoked. Others offered simple, inexpensive mods that might help you out. As far as your ground effects, not that many kits exist for GP's, and he mentioned to buy an import because there are more kits available for those cars if that's the look you're after. We here on the Grand Prix forum pride ourselves on giving good sound advice, and I don't appreciate your oversensitive attack on us..

O.K! My bad that I attacked you guy's!! I just thought that maybe you weren't giving me the credit I feel due. I am not a new owner by any means and have wrenched on GP's next to some of the biggest names known to any GP around. I know more of experince than of numbers and graphs from watching people like Zoomer and his budy Scott. I was at some of the races that are told all over the place of there miricle runs and cars that would spin belts in the burn out box. I have seen the first GP to run 10 sec. in the 1/4. So I felt attacked on my experience of which no one asked about. I have a GP GTP with about $8000 under the hood. Thanks to my good friend Brent and my self. I have camed more cars with Brent than I can count on one hand and have seen cars react different every time someone tunes them. So all I am saying is that with all the numbers and graphs that some wants to throw at you you still can't count on one mod to win. I apalogize for anyone that I may have offended. As far as the import thing to me is like calling my mother a bad name makes me angery. Again I opalogize to you.

you've been in the game long enough to know what kits are out there then, and to know that there isnt shit for body kits/fascia like there would be for an import.
basically when someone ask bout body kits i immediatly think newb because if you've been in the game long enough you know what kits are out there, and know that there isnt shit for body kits/fascia like there would be for an import.

I really love My GP and want it to look different from the rest but having difficulty doing so. So when I find a new sight it's my first ? to all.

Hey JDUKE, everythings cool, no apologies are really necessary. As time goes on you will find a bunch of great people here that all have one thing in common. Their love of cars, especially the Grand Prix and willingness to help people. A lot of us here have a lot of experience with the Grand Prix too including racing and modding. Basically, this is a technical forum where people look for help and people provide help. IMO - It is probably the best forum for technical and logistical support on AF.
Many times hot topics open up but its best not to over-react or be too overly sensitive about matters. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion as long as it doesn't revert to personal attacks and outright name calling. On any hot button issue there will always be debates. And eventually people will start posting facts to minimize conjecture such as graphs and statistics to show their point but it doesn't mean you were being degraded or cut down. After I reviewed the facts I found it amusing and felt more confident that it was "no contest" in favor of the GTP.
In the case of the guy with the '99 GTP and 2000 Honda SiR, the original poster was looking for help and thought he bit off more than he could chew by accepting the match. The Honda owner blew smoke and he got psyched out. Based on the facts I saw, it appears that he was making a mountain out of a molehill and lacked confidence. Granted there are some fast Honda Civics out there but there are an equal number of fast Grand Prixs too. Overestimating is just as bad as underestimating. Ask yourself this question: Who would you rather see win the Honda or the GTP?
In the meantime welcome to the forum and I am quite sure your experience(s) that you would like to share with us will be appreciated.

hey JDUKE, I appreciate the apology, but none is necessary. We are here to help, and if anyone offended you or made you feel like a newb, then we owe you an apology too. Please feel free to come here anytime, as we enjoy all opinions, like Bnaylor said, as long as we don't resort to personal attacks. I for one love hearing all the different ways we all modify our cars and make them our own, and my heart is with any GP over a ricer, but you gotta respect what those guys have done with those import tuner cars. A fast car is a fast car, just limit the chrome and fancy lights, as I'm much more impressed with a stone chipped runner than a sparkly trailer queen. We all hope you stick around, I think you'll like what you see.
