I have an 02 tahoe. is it possible to add a 3rd row seat to this truck? obviousely, not factory equipped with one.
I checked out my brother's 01 and it looks like the brackets just bolt in. I even felt the holes for the bolts for the rearmost brackets. feels like they have some kind of pad stuck on over them with adhesive. I checked mine and there do seem to be impressions in the floor for them.
I cannot run my hands up far enough to see if there are bolt holes for the front most brackets. would have to remove carpet for that.
A friend told me that the actual floor pan back there was different but that makes no sense to me. I cannnot see them spending the money to put different pans in different trucks going down the line.

I just installed a 3rd row seat in my 99 tahoe. Wife said a 3rd row or a new vehicle. I opted for the 3rd row. Right after the tranny went out. Could have put $3,000 in to a new one but sometimes you gotta stick it out.
I found an exact matching 3rd row from a surburban on E-bay. You can probobly find an exact match if you look hard enough. You probably have the mounting brackets installed from teh factory. I had to install brackets in mine. Took 6 hours and was a pain in the xxx. But it is in and looks great.
The guy I bought mine from sells them all the time.

thanks for the reply. I definately don't have the brackets, although I am pretty sure the holes are there. I have seen several sets of seats on ebay for @600 bucks. I was thinking of trying to get the brackets from GM. I did see a complete set of brackets on ebay for 125.00 and seats in the 350 range. just have to wait for right color.
where did you get your seats from?

I don't know if I'd pay $1000+ for a bench seat. That seems kinda high doesn't it?

I have also been told by a dealer that the floor pans were different and you couldn't just bolt in a a set of factory third row seats. That's all I know though, only what he said.

Added the third row seat to 2004 tahoe. Got matching seats and brakets off ebay. cost was about 1000 with installation. The pan was ready to except bolts.

Do you know if you can get a 60/40 split bench added into a 99 tahoe as a third row? I want to be able to fold 40 down and still have the rest up for storage. Can I buy a 60/40 from a newer than 99 model and install?
