Hello group,
I have a 2001 Caravan SE. My gas mileage on the highway has dropped in the past year. The rpms at 100 km or 60 mph seems to be about 700 rpms higher then before. rpms at 100 km is now 2400 before it was 1700. I took my brother in laws 2001 Caravan out on the road and his is 1700 at 100 km. On the highway I shifted down to 3 rd gear and the rpms went up allot so it seems like it is going into overdrive but with higher revs then originally. I'm not sure how these transmissions work and thought someone on this forum would have some ideas. I will go and have the trans flushed this week and see if this solve the problem. And ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading

has a "service engine soon" light come on? It sounds like your torque converter clutch is not applying, thus the decreased fuel mileage. The problem could lie in a faulty solenoid pack of even a faulty torque converter, which is inside your transmission.
