98 Park Avenue Ultra vs. 04 Ford Windstar

One night I was cruising down Ocean Parkway - 3 lanes each way road with some traffic at 10 pm. So I'm going in the right lane and I see a car in front of me turns a right signal on and starts to brake. So I turn my left blinker and try to go to the center lane but this a-hole in windstar in center lane behind me (2 CARS BEHIND ME) gives some gas and honks just not let me through. But still I squeeze in and intentionally let off gas pedal. So I wait till the speed drops to about 25mph and I see him going to left lane and flooring it so I did the same. He didn't even come close to me - ripped him apart. He attempted this move few more times but never succeded. Then I see that he slowed down and I did the same but he was going a little slower than me and I even forgot about him when I heard vroom. He was flying at about 60 mph, I was going about 40 at the time so I gunned it, my Ultra did a kick down and blew past throgh him like he was standing still. I am so amazed of what a two ton sedan with a V6 can do.

Well I can say that I also ripped apart 03 ish Lexus IS 300, Mitsubishi Eclipse 94 ish, 97 Nissan Maxima GLE auto.

yeah i raced a squirrel last week and through first we were even so i swerved and hit him then I ripped him apart, it wasnt even close i had like a 50 squirrel lead on him then i looked back and he was rolling in the center of the road...

What's up with this anyhow? I always thought a street racing story is a street racing story irregardless of who or what the combatants are?

If this story was told by say CivRacer95 (nothing against you personally Civ, just an example only) who is sitting at a light and some dude in a Park Avenue Ultra pulls beside, looks over and smiles and revs it up, then takes off with the rubber squealing a little when the light turns green, ole Civ looks to a friend riding along and says "oh yeah? watch this" and takes off after the Ultra, (gets a perfect launch by the way!) reels it back up, and has a 1 or 2 car lead by 80. There would be "ha ha ha nice kill" or "guess you showed him" and other pats on the back.

But the slow guy gets no deserved props when they have a little fun and wants to brag about it because his almost 2 ton factory supercharged Ultra laid some wood to a mommyvan. If this section of AF is about street racing stories, then I really could care less if the story was about a UPS and Fed-EX delivery truck race where they are neck and neck at 50 when all of a sudden a DHL truck blows both of them away because he got his deliveries done early and had less weight.

Why is it that the stories that get the most appreciation is only the ones where more serious iron is involved but when the more pedestrian kind of vehicles are mentioned in a story they are treated like it's a waste of time even mentioning?

The problem with posting about this kind of "race" is that the poster doesn't mention that he knows he shouldn't bother pressing the gas pedal past 20%. This situation happens to each of us almost everyday, so us postee's which drive something worth pressing the gas past 20% get bored throughout the story. Somebody needs to be made fun of in this situation, if the poster does this himself then the postee's don't have to, otherwise the postee's must. This is the way it is. The squirell race was better than the Windstar race in this thread. :2cents:

By the way I raced a 97 Maxima SE auto. I won by half a car length At 60mph, then we shut down because of the traffic. Couldn't continue because I had to turn left and maxima went straight.
