which helmet brand is the best? I guess good helmets are light and provide good ventilation and protect your head. I am also wondering which helmets come with the sickest graphics. i want one that screams look at me.
Also, does anyone know of any custom helmet painters or something like that.

as far as i've seen look at shoei or suomy and if you want custom painted just check ebay they got people who got their helmets painted but ain't that satisfied. for the factory painted helmets check www.denniskirk.com go to metric bikes, helmets and then search for suomy or shoei

i just checked out my sportrider magazine and i saw a zamp rz-10, it has 6 cooling vents, removable and washable coolmax interior, speedwing spoiler, meets snell and dot standards. u can get it for 150 dollars with solid colors but if you pay 200 dollars u can get this real eyecatching graphics with a skeleton a spider and some other stuff. the graphics arent "little children scream when they see them" good, but it's a great deal

I think this is really a matter best answered only by going out and actually trying helmets on. Find a well-built helmet that fits you well and you are in business.

Yea I would agree with you on that. Most importantly, buy a helmet that fits you the best. Other things such as helmet weight, ventilation, comfort, fog protection (im big on that one) are all important. Also removable interior is nice when your helmet is starting to stink  . I prefer the feel of Scorpion helmets. They fit me great, and are excellent in preventing the face shield from fogging. Their graphics are also pretty cool. Their also more on the affordable side unlike the Shoei's (which are great helmets to).

An important question that a lot of people will ask you when your deciding on buying a helmet is: How much do you value your head?

Hope this helps!

Make sure the helmet is not only DOT certified, but Snell M2000 (or later) certified too. I won't even look at a helmet unless it has both.

what does Snell certification mean?

the snell foundation gets helmet samples from companies and tests them using tests that tell you the helmets performance, ability to stay on during different weather conditions, flame resistance(only for serious racing helmets) test and stuff. lets just say if you have a helmet with snell certification you're less likely to die. it's all here www.christmasinjuly.org/safety8a.html
