Hi, just wondering, coz i have this 1997 WRX STi version 3 coming from japan and noticed that it doesn't have the sti cover where the fog lights go? It has the red and black bucket seats from what i can see in the pictures, but not the fog light covers, i thought that all STi's had covers over the fog lights, can someone please tell me what the story is, is mine really an STi??

hey bro
where did your import it from?
you can tell if its a STI or not by the 5th or 6th digit on the serial number
wait a min and i'll find the pic

Wasen't all sti's up to 1999 2 door? and the VI the only 4 door sti?
The standard wrx does NOT come in a 2 door model.

The STi's came only in 4 door until the 96/97 model where they came out with the Type R, and from then they have been available in the four door and coupe versions.
But anyways, i think i'll have to wait until the car arrives here in New Zealand (its coming from japan), and then i'll look at the Applied model number to see what it really is, coz i definately paid the amount for an STi not a standard WRX.

The Sti Version 3 didn't have the big fog lights. So it didn't have the covers. STi Versions all came in 4 and 2 door version. Version 1-3 were more of limited production though 4-7 are mass produced. It will have STi somewhere else on the car if it one, unless they just slapped stickers on it. Then you can just check the vin number.
