How many SKylines are in CA?

Last night when I was driving with my friends to a Sushi Restaurant on I-880 North by Hayward something very amazing drove by us, a Nissan Skyline GTR. It was silver and it had the GTR badge in the back. I was so excited to see one actually driving. I’ve seen the skylines at Import Shows, but nothing like seeing one being drove. I think it was the R33 since it was smaller looking than the R34. The headlights were circle ones with HID. It was such a great and happy feeling seeing one. I wish I had my camera with me so I could take pictures, but I didn’t. I am really bummed out, but it was a great experience seeing one. I was wondering how many Skylines are there in California and I m wondering if you guys seen the Skyline I saw today.

no there isnt that many. from what ive heard, theres maybe 100 skylines in TOTAL in the US.

there isnt that big of a market for them. there are roughly under 10 street legal r34's. the majority of the market is probably made up of r32's, as they were the most obtainable.

yea im thinkin legal skylines. and yes illegal ones ARE comming in left and right. theres a member on our board who has an illegal skyline. theyre everywhere these days.

i didnt know gruppe-s did work on skylines, i thought they stuck to the sti/evo/s2k/350 crowd.

I have never seen a Skyline on the street, only in autoshows, hot import nights and stuff like that.

Yeap, Gruppe-S does Skylines too... They also have an R32 GTS-T that was once their project. I'm not sure what happened to it though.

There is only 100 in the US that is pretty sweet. We have like 2 that I have actually seen with my own eyes and have heard of a third one here. I live in Boise, ID. I have only seen 3 in person every.

To answer some of the other questions, that was originally owned by one of the owners of Gruppe-S. When he moved back to Japan, I picked it up from him. You'll probably see me at HIN then. It's a little beat up, but it's a daily driver, so go figure.

there are only like 85 registerd skylines in the states, and they are mostly probably going to end up in cali

I know this is an old post, but i felt i should just toss the information in the air. i have a friend who is into the import offices of the united states. and up until 0ct. 2005, there are 87 skylines in the united states, one in canada, and 67 impounded skylines from illegally distributions.

Its a small company called Tenline Inc. they deal with all the large imported items that have to be safety tested before they can leave the docks and airports. they do in fact get run under the power of the government only for the fact that the government has a strick set of rules on what can and cannot get let into the country. so you can say it is like a silent partner so to speak

Not quite right. The 87 is probably about right for cars finished. There are about 35 other cars that Motorex has sitting. There are about another 40 or so cars between other RI's - Graycar, G & K , JK, couple of Florida and New York places.

I am in SF and was lucky enough to see and actually drive 3 Skylines this weekend. :grinyes: I drove 2 R33's and 1 R34. After a long search I finally found some Skylines with all supporting documents. I am buying two of the R33's from this collector. They are here in CA. If anyone is interested, the other R33 and an R34 is for sale. Big bucks for the R34 (20km), blue, stock, but the R33's are reasonably priced.

Of course I took a million pics of me geeking out.

saw one for the first time driving in hamilton, just imported, horrible condition tho lol, fuckin flat red, the front fender on the paassenger side is black lol, looks brutal, but if the owner got a nice paint job on it, it'd look amazin...was good tho, looked like a 98 or 99 GT-R

what i want to know is who owns the beautiful gunmetal R33 in northridge. I've seen it parked in the parking structure at CSUN, where i go, and i cant stop thinking about it. I have many questions and want answers!

I saw another silver R33 a few years ago in northridge. He chased me down Nordhoff to the light. He was selling it and wanted 50k which is just a bit out of my price range.

I've also seen a white R32 with OHC plates, but that was probably illegal.
