Just bought an '04 2500 Quadcab. Dealer stated fuel economy of 18-20 mpg, but it's only getting about 12-13 highway. Truck is practically new (30000 miles). Any thoughts as to what I should do?

I have the same engine in my 04 amd i get 19 around town. Highway mileage does go down because it is turning high RPM's. But I have no gone down the highway without towing anything. But i typicaly get 14 to 15 towing our 20' lund. You may need to let it break in a bit.

Breakin will help. My brother has an 05 2500 diesel also and as the engine loosens up his mileage is improving.
What axle ratio do you have? If it's 4.10 then you'll be turning higher rpm and burning more fuel.
