Headlight Issue (not the same old prob)

The headlights on my 86 SE go up perfectly normal when I hit the switch however, they do not go down when turned off. It is not a real big deal to have to crank them down manually, but it is starting to be an annoyance.

I have heard that this means the actuators are bad?? but when i crank them down, sometimes it takes a little push then they crank the rest of the way, so I guess there could be a stuck gear or something. Does anyone know more about these syptoms?? Thanks.

Not an expert, But it sounds like the gears are stripped at the full open position. Try turning the headlights on and back off before the lights open all the way, and see if they close.
