Its either its leaking or buring it. To check for leaks, I would jack it up and crawl under there and look at the oil pan. If check for a blackish oily feeling film. If its there, you will probably want to change the oil pan gasket or if you have a turbo it could be somewhere in the oil piping for the turbo. The other thing it could be is that you have bad piston rings or valve seats (right?) and the oil is getting into the combustion chamber and burning. If you have a bluish smoke coming out the exhaust or if it smells like a snowmobile, thats probably your problem. Either way, you need to get that checked and soon. Be sure to keep a couple quarts of oil in your car if you have to drive it. How many miles does your car have?

Bad seals? Bad gaskets? The level will lower the more it's used. You don't seem to have too much of a big problem. If it's leaking, then you have a problem.

Ohhhh, I thought it said that you ran out two weeks AFTER the oil was changed. Yeah, running a little low after the 3000 miles or whatever is ok.
