ES300 sluggish

My ES300 is sluggish in going from about 45 to 70MPH. Only if I kick down the accelerator does it perk up. But under normal pressing of accelerator it takes for ever to speed up to 70MPH. It has a new airfilter, but have not done transmission flush yet (car has 30K miles). Is the transmission in the process of dying? Any suggestions on what to look for as the source of the problem? thanks.......

Why do you pick out the transmission for your acceleration problems? Is the transmission shifting slowly, jerking, or slipping?
No, the transmission will not cause the engine to produce, or transfer more, or less power than it has. It either works in gear, or it slips & you don't go anywhere for very long.

That being said, you need to have the fluid flushed out every other year/ 20-30,000 mile time frame (or just drain the pan every other oil change - 10,000 miles)

I would start by resetting the ECU. Pull the EFI fuse for a second & replace it.

If it's not any better, Clean the Upper Intake Air Chamber, and everything on it (ACIS valve, EGR, IAC, throttle plate) by hand.
That would be this thing, commonly mis-reffered to as the intake manifold.
