You better know a lot about car geometry and stability before even considering it. Like how you're going to have the body not flex when you take a corner, and just plain mess up your whole car. Convertables are built differently to be able function, yet not have a solid roof. It's a hell of a lot mroe than simply cutting the roof off.

yea serious structure fortifying needs to be done for this, plus much more weight for the motors and the top itself. the roof on a unibody car like the crx is holding the whole car together, ripping it off will be doing no good at all.
id suggest maybe a t-top conversion instead, but have a professional do this, you dont want to be making a cut in your roof and the line isnt even straight.

This is not the type of mod you do with some how-to's off the internet. Put down the sawzall and step away from the car.

if it rolled over, do you think its safe?
convertibles, real ones anyway have extremely stiff headrest hoops that protect from rollovers, a chop top crx does not. in my bmw convertible, steel hoops will deploy from the back headrest if the car reachs 45°.
sure your crx is cool, but it wont be safe.
