temp guage acts like vacum gauge

95 metro 1.0 5speed.

temp guage reads normal when no load on engine or when engine idling.

as soon as you apply throttle, the temp guage moves toward zero, or cold. it isnt a full on or off sort of thing, but more incremental the same way a vacum guage would work, if you step hard on the gas pedal, the gauge moves all the way to the bottom. also when at idle, either warm or cold, the gauge appears to be reading accurately.

I saw something like this on a forum once quite a while ago, and seem to remember that the guy solved the problem, but I cant find that particular forum now.

any help would be appreciated thanks.

I would see if you have a Thermastat. The wind hitting your radiator will cool your coolant. The absence of the thermastat would allow the water to circulate faster and cool more as your RPM's increase and of course, as you go faster, you get more wind to cool the coolant. Anyhow, keep us posted
