if one would buy rims for a car and they are 16x7 and says recommended tire size is 205/55/16... does that mean that a 225/55/16 or anything else of that nature would not work at all?????

No depends on the clearance of the fender and suspension as to whether they would work or not. The 225 is 20mm wider than the 205's so there may be a clearance problem. If there is no clearance problem there should be no problem with them fitting.

what year is ur car??? mine is a 99 ga se and it came stock with 225/55/16 so if ur car is a 99 and newer it will def fit ur car with lots of clearance, my friend has the same car as me and he went with 245 and he has no problems. 225 being width, 55 meaning hieght of sidewall, and 16 being diameter of tire
