Greetings to all !

I just purchased a used 2000 venture... a creampuff really. Spotless condition and all. Engine looks to be either new or was garaged. Very little dirt in engine compartment, engine looks brand new! ... less than 72,000 miles on the odometer!

Car is in really great condition!

I did however notice one thing. The radio.
When you go to start the car, the radio says "CAL ERR". This stays on for about 10 seconds then goes off.
While the car is running, each time you turn on the radio, "CAL ERR" also pops back up and goes off in about 10 seconds.

I've seen some people on other forums talking about an ECM ( or PCM or BCM ?) configuration error, stating that it needs to be reconfigured. Ok how?

I've also see people state that its related to the anti-theft key system...???

Someone said that if you unplug the fuse in the engine compartment for the radio and let it stand for more than 30 seconds.. it will clear this... tried it.. the only thing it cleared was the station presets AND the time!!! :)

can anyone point me in a direction here?
What IS a "CAL ERR" and how do I clear it !

The person that I got it from stated that the center console lights and fans controls were not working. They replaced a "resister board" under the passenger side of the dashboard and it all came back to life...
?????

Thanks in advance for letting me know!

Nitch
