CF part at Import Fan

I was looking through 3KGT/Stealth body kits and i ran across this page http://www.importfan.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=104_220_221

Thats alot of carbon parts. Fenders,side skirts,hoods, wings. Suppose if u had the money how much weight do u think u could save buy going with a full carbon body kit? *Hood,Bumpers,sideskirts,wing* Just curious if ne body has ever weighed some of these key compents on there car.

i think you would realize the most savings in the hood and trunk. total for hood, trunk, fenders, and bumper id say maybe...2/3 of the weight would be lost. still really expensive and you could do something else with the money and get alot better results. but for example i can hold my CF hood parallel to the ground with one hand, and my stock hood I struggle even to carry lol.

Yeah but heres is the thing the 3s isnt' the lightest of cars *IF* you had the money and these parts and some performance upgrades you could run with matt monet. I'm just throwing the idea out there of if sombody had the money would be the real improvment you would see.

lots of those parts dont fit right. there are tons and tons of pissed off customers from Importfan.com on this website alone! I'm one of those many. those bastards took over one month, ONE FUKEN MONTH to ship me a carbon hood that I paid $880.00 for. It took another week for the carrier to deliver it.

I talked to some jackass named vincent or vinnie or some crap, he told me it was in stock, "yes, we have it , I'm looking at one right now"
one month and 6 days later it was still sitting in thier warehouse, I expect that shyt from some guy on e-bay but from a business?

screw them!

oh yeah and the hood didnt fit very well, I had to spend an extra 70 bucks to custom fit it and it leaked water into my air intake after all that crap.

Fenders are light as hell from the factory. They might weigh 10 pounds tops. Side skirts are also light, again maybe 10 pounds at the most. Bumpers are light, 20 pounds at the very most. The wings are around 10 pounds. There really isnt going to be any weight savings from those. The hood as mentioned you will get a nice savings from. The stock hood weighs around 70 lbs. A CF hoo is going to weigh in around 17-20 lbs.

As mentioned STAY AWAY from importfan. Their quality control is non existent.

And these cars arent really that heavy. Its a stigma that is going to stay with them always. A TT/VR4 only weighs 300 lbs more than a Supra at its heaviest. There have even been some weigh in around 3400 lbs. Most of the weight comes from the AWD, not the body parts.
