So thursday afternoon, i was on my way to school in traffic. This is a two lane rd with many stop lights. So a light turns turns red and everyone is stopped in the left lane...I am the only one in the right. So this blue 2004-2005 Cavalier rolls up behind me. He starts to inch up on my ass and is revving the whole time. I see him laughing and shakin his head. The light then turns green and i speed up to pass the other lane not boosting yet. throw it into second still not boosting and here come this cavalier. He swings into the left lane in front of the line of cars. He passes me i floor it in second gear, now im boosting. I am at his rear bumper, third i am at his door, and just about the time t throw it into 4th i slow down so our windows are next to eachother. I look at him, smile a big shit eatin grin, wave by-by....throw it into 4th and walk him.... Then this son of a bitch puts his hand out the window and gives me the finger. What a bitch....this kid had normal stuff done, intake, and atleast exhaust.

But now i am no longer able to boost for a while....The blower was leaking oil. I miss boost.

How is a domestic CHEVY CAVALIER a ricer or unless you were refering to me. I choose not to think of myself as a ricer, but an Import Enthusiast.

domestic 4 cylinders that are "tuned" are ricers in my opinion. there is such thing as domestic rice

Hrm...obviously if you're boosting you'd have the advantage. I would, however, like to point out to the domestic bashers that stock vs. stock, the 03-06 cavs push the same horsepower and plenty more torque compared to the 99 integra. Then again, the integra narrowly grabs the weight advantage.

P.S. - NastyNater - The Ecotec in that cav isn't "domestic" in the sense most people would think of it. The motor was originally developed for european market and has applications across MANY of GM's brands.

he said he walked a pretty much stock cavalier, trust me intake and exhaust do almost nothing for a cavalier. Ive raced modified cavaliers before that were NA, and i dont walk them, i run them.

And also i wasnt talking to him, he seemed pretty cool. I was talking to all the other shit talkers calling my car a dumbestic rice.

I only came here cause i was just bored and browsing the forums, sorry didnt realize only Honda guys were allowed to talk in here. I suddenly feel like i walked into a social outcast section of the forum, didnt realize "outsiders" werent allowed in.

slow99integra said he walked him....nasty nater never said such a thing...and you reffering to the domestic rice comment i think you were talkin about nasty nater...which in fact would "walk" you.

In this entire thread you are the only person to mention "dumbestic rice", don't you read your own posts? ...and NastyNater was calling the guy driving the Cav a ricer because he flipped the bird when he got walked. He never called the car "rice", he called the driver a "ricer".

"Outsiders" can post anywhere they want to, but when you start shit over something you said in your own post and try to put words in peoples mouths (like you did) you make all Cav owners seem like ricers. That's why Cav owners are treated like social outcasts on this board - y'all are just too damn defensive about your car.

BTW nice kill, good story. But this thread got really stupid (and I'll admit I did my share to contribute to the stupidity).

This tread did get very moronic very fast....That was not my intention. I just want to say Sorry for offending any Cavalier guys out there...And anyone is allowed any where in this site. That is the beauty of the internet. I just wanted to post a story that was a good one. I was not disrespecting Cavaliers at all, just the C@ck sucker I raced. We all need to calm down and stop being so sensitive.
BTW my first car was a 1996 Grand am SE 2.4L....It was a Cavalier just with a different name and body. Everything else is the same

I think any car can be called rice. There is a guy in my neighborhood with a 2004 mustang gt with a huge ass wing, riding on cut springs with stock shocks, APC stickers, chrome rims, an ugly ass body kit(in blue primer), exhaust TIPS, and a big sound system, all with zero mods to the engine. Is it domestic? Yes. Does it have a V8? Yes. Is it rice? YES! It doesn't matter what you drive in my opinion it can be rice.

I couldn't agree more. I saw a similair thing, V6 Camaro with altezza lights, big aluminum spoiler, and chrome rims, rice in my opinion.

I saw a simular mustang you mentioned, but it was a V6 with dual exhaust. The reason I said V6 with dual exhaust is because I raced it in my slow VTi Ion and it didn't sound V8-ish.

Not really. Since I can't shift my car (until now) I was able to stay with him to 50 mph while he did hard acceleration and shifting his gears hard. I was coming towards my turn to head to work. When I was working, I saw his car again doing a hard U-Turn and hit it quickly. Based on that, our accelerations is about the same. Not bad for a stock saturn. I hope to do better with intake, TB, exhaust, and lighter wheels in the future.

I could do better now since I can shift. I actually got 27 mpg in the city from that point on. I now have the torque to jump off the line better than I did before.

wait do you mean you werent good at shifting when you raced him?

so how did you get more torque from learning how to shift?

vegetto1982

It's a hybrid automatic. CVT transmission. It doesn't get get off the line quicker than it does now. I use intermediate power of the line, then shift to drive when I'm done accelerating. No problems so far. I wish I could swap to a 5 speed manual...
