If you can afford it.

i agree if you can afford it go for it....my v8's get better gas mileage than the 3.8 simple because it takes so much more from the v6 to do what is fairly simple for a v8 especially the lt1 or ls1

I guess the V8 would be a good choice unless you like "get on it" all the time. But do what you gotta do man. I think getting a Z28 would be nice b/c the power but if you want to it could be decent on gas.

It would be easy to pick one up now b/c alot of ppl around here are selling their v8's for 4 poppers. Did anybody see that gm extended the empolyee pricing on some of their 06 trucks? They cant give those thing away.

Yeah i'd buy a Z28, gas mileage isnt that bad for the Camaro.. this is only true to the 4th gen Camaros thugh 93-02 because Chevy did good in keeping the gas mileage up even with a high powered V8. Also we're going to have to just get used to gas being this high sooner or later, HELL I think everyone should just get into the frame of mind of having gas for 5 dollars pretty soon, so whenever you see gas for 3.20 or so you can be happy like "OMG its 3.20 here! Im filling up!"

These are going to be hard times none the less. Hopefully though sooner or later everything will level out and things will go back to normal.

I am getting a 1.5 diesel Rabbit with a 5 speed. It gets 50mpg. And i will buy another camaro/firebird to fix and sell later to make a profit. I think its the way to go when you drive a lot.

NO GAS PRICES WILL STOP US!
Long live the CAMARO!

Also what do you guys think of diesel Rabbits (down to earth cars, 65 hp/140 pounds)?

Well, my Kia Spectra gets around 50 mpg, well maybe a tad bit less. I'm personally not too fond of diesel engines, mainly due to the filthy exhaust it produces. It's just disgusting and not to mention, horrible for the environment. But.. when I was gettin my exhaust done a while back, there was this guy with a Rabbit there gettin his worked on too. I'm pretty sure it wasn't diesel. But the guy showed me his turbo and the nitrous lines all installed. Man did he have that thing hooked up.

What I'm really lookin into buying (or possibly trading my bird in for if the price is out of my reach) is a Honda Insight. Now that's a nice little car. A 3cyl hybrid, all aluminum body, and it still burns them tires while getting anywhere from 60-90 mpg. Such an awesome car, I wan't one.

I actually kind of freaked out and got excited today like that when I saw a station that had $2.98 for reg. I got all excited and filled up, then came back later and with a 5 gallon gas can and filled it up too.

Man, you guys think you've got it bad with gas prices.. shoot, try bein a pizza delivery driver having to fill up 2-3 times a week. That's alot of money out of my pocket. A friend of mine up in Indiana told me that all the pizza places had to stop delivering because they couldn't afford to pay the drivers enough money for gas. ex: at my pizza hut, we get 65 cents for each delivery that we take. That's supposed to cover the cost of gas. Well, recently since the prices went up, so did the amount that we get paid. So, now we're getting 90 cents for each delivery (note: that's 4 deliveries just to get one gallon of gas) that we take. It's really helping out alot, and it's shocking to see a multi-billion dollar company actually take it's employees into consideration. It's definately a nice thing to see.
