I just got my brand new cold-air intake installed and now i'm having a strange problem. I installed everything correctley (very simple project) and now when I step on it, the throttle responds nicley, but when i hit roughley 3000rpm the acceleleration is immediatly haulted and everything stops till i let off the gas. It runs good when i dont push it too hard but there is something wrong and i cant figure this out for the life of me. I had a mechanic check my work and he told me everything was setup properly but that i needed new spark plugs, fuel filter and a bunch of other stuff related to a tune-up to make it run right. I know a tune-up is defenently needed but do you think it will solve this particular problem. PLEASE ADVISE, Thank you

Did you put a higher flowing muffler on it? If not, you're bogging down the engine with the exhaust.

Remove and clean you MAF sensor with a extra soft tooth brush and brake cleaner.
Clean the small sensor filament wires.
If the filter was over oiled, it could have screwed your MAF sensor.

I have a ravin z-55 series muffler on my blazer so i dont think its an exhaust problem. I did notice the MAS was a little dusty but the more i drive the less this problem seems to present itself. I will clean the MAS and hopefully no more bogg-outs. THANKS

Be prepared to replace it.

Seems those K&N's are more of a pain than they're worth. We just had a shop discussion on over-oiled filters and dead MAF Sensors.
