My power window isn't operating properly. It will go down, but won't go up. I'll press the button and it will go up 1/2 an inch at a time and then I have to wait for five minutes and it will go up another 1/2 inch. I thought the track might be blocked, but I took off the door panel and everything looks good. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? I think it may be the motor, but I don't want to replace that if it is something more simple. Any suggestions?

I had exactly the same problem a few minutes ago with my 2001 Z24. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the problem is either. I tried replacing the switch unit that mounts in the console a few months ago. But now it's happening again. I would like an answer too!

The motor is overheating and shutting down. As cavzilla said there are several threads on this already. I wrote up a quickie procedure here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=3389511&postcount=8) about how to replace a motor from the top of my head. The motors are around $40 to replace yourself. It's not hard if you have the proper tools.
