'94 Rolling Away w/o SmartTrak

My '94 at 130k miles started vibrating so I removed the front driveshaft and that solved the problem. I tried a number of things to fix it but was unsuccessful. Not wanting to spend more money, I permanently removed the driveshaft. Now with the viscous transfercase, it will roll away with out the parking brake. Not real good when someone forgets to set it. I am replacing the engine again (Jasper sent me a bad one) and since I will have the engine and trans out, is there any way to modify the internals of the transfercase to permanently lock it? Can the transfercase be replaced with a standard transmission tail shaft?

FYI - The previous owner had the W engine CPI fuel pressure regulator go bad, dilute the oil and wipe out the rod and crank bearings.
