Hi all,
I'm building the 2001 WRC Focus from Tamiya and need to know if there's a Tamiya acrylic colour which comes close to the pinky colour on the decals.
Don't spose anybody could help with that?
Thanks

Thanks for the help Ray, but I was looking for a more 'definitive' answer. Guess I'll take a trip to my LHS over the weekend and take it from there.

Well, how badly are the decals damaged?
I may be able to find some of the decal sheet from the 2001 Focus in my parts box and send them to you to 'patch' the damage.
Can you post a photo?

Not that badly, a couple of small holes where Microsol melted & one small area on roof scoop where decal didn't quite line-up properly.
Photos will be up very soon - I'm gonna post a completed thread when it's.....well....completed! :)
Thanks for the offer Ray, appreciated.

Testors Acryl flourescent orange looks like a decent match. I have the Heller 1/43 version, and they include some of their paint to cover the roof scoop which looks like a good match as well. I will get the exact number for you when I get home.
Also look at the Odds N Ends craft enamel in Wal-Mart and other stores, there is a flourescent orange there.
When I do the 1/43 car, and if I do a 1/24 in the future, I think I will just trim of all that color decal and paint it myself.

Hi Steve. Unfortunately I cant get my hands on Testor's paint (I'm UK based), at least not quickly. Thanks for the help anyway.

No, but you can probably get Humbrol paint over there pretty easily, which is what Heller includes in their models (Over here at least).

Found a tin of Humbrol flouro red (which I used on my Airfix Focus). The match is near perfect! Yay, something went right!!

Humbrol Flouro Red (think it's acrylic). It's not perfect but it's a close enough match if you only need to touch up very small parts (oo-er now didn't that sound naughty  )

Oh, sorry I forgot about this. The color included in the 1/43rd Focus is Gloss Fire Orange. From the color charts I have seen they are close, but the orange should be an even better match.
