I've got some other pictures of it ill dig up and post tomorrow. I like the lines and the motoGPesque exhaust. I'd like to know what that little intake looking thing is on the left side of the front fairing. It seems odd that they would put something like an intake port off of the centerline. Seems like that would negatively effect high speed handling. Im sure they have it all figured out, though...

Actually, here's more:

And the Yamaha website.

I think the intake port?? your referring to is probably ram air. That's always been prevalent on the R6s, they just redesigned it to a different position for 06. And it's on both sides, right and left, like the R1. Yamaha has been efficient on using ram-air on the R6.

Now that I see the other pictures it looks like the tip of what appears to be a wing on each fairing. Was just an odd angle I suppose. Its either a wing (999 style) or just an oddly shaped section of the fairing.

I thought of the same, the GP exhaust was neat, like the K5 Gixxer 1k, but sexy looking. No underseat stuff.

Oh ok, if you're talking about that little ducts on side of the fairing, haha, I suppose it has aerodynamic reason.

It's gonna be a great year, can't wait to see the other new bikes.

Btw, they screwd up the ZX-10R:

WTF was kawasaki thinking?! that thing is fugly as hell and not very flashy....it has boring lines and how do those headlights even light up the road?...but the R6 looks VERY nice....and i'm thinking that what you guys are talking about is just a part of the fairing...

Eh - - - I don't think I like it. I think it is the nasty exhaust that rubs me the wrong way.

i think it looks hot but i still like the gixxer 600 or the cbr600rr(i love that undertail exhaust and the shape of the gas tank) better.

I'm not a big fan of the exhaust on the new R6, but I wasn't a fan of the stock exhaust that came on my bike either.. So I upgraded to a Carbon Fiber High mount.. Thank god for aftermarket accessories..

The black looks hot..
The Yellow.... :thumbsdow

what's wrong with the yellow bike? nowadays everyone's bike is blue or black, silver or something else. you should try something different

it's alright. i still think the 2003 R6 in the limited edition black with red flames is the best looking R6. and that rear blinker/license plate assembly is almost as ugly as the one on my bike.
