I hope someone can help me. I bought a 2002 Jetta GLS a few months ago used with 52K. From be beginning I have had this problem. Occasionally when comming to a stop, the car jerks hard right before the car comes to a complete stop. I took it to the dealership and they were able to reproduce it and said that it needed a new transmission......I just picked the car up this afternoon and thought all was well........but ITS STILL DOING IT!!! Am I missing something? I dont even know how to approach calling them back and telling them that they didn't fix it. Has anyone else had this problem? Or have any suggestions as to what it could be?
Thanks for your help

maybe i didnt make myself clear. sorry for the confusion. They replaced the transmission. and it is still doing it. I have a friend and his car is doing something similar and his was diagnosed as a torch (sp) converter malfunction. Didnt know if maybe this was a possibility. But again. The transmission has been replaced and the car is still jerking when I come to a stop. Usually with the A/C on.

Well if they installed a new transmission (not used or rebuilt) than its probalbly not the transmission. When driving with the A/C on its putting alot of load on the engine and the transmission will shift harsher. thats normal for an automatic. If they fixed it and its still doing the same thing than you have to bring it back in untill they fix it right. The fluid level might be low.
