hello, i have a huge problem, my is a 1993 nissan sentra se-r, and it wont shift and it will hit the rev limiter, im tired of letting off to let it shift. i wish it was a 5spd. i can't find a auto tranny to switch out with mine, but i found a 5spd out of an se-r and the guy said i can have every thing for the tranny for $300.. what is all involved in this process?
would i have to switch computers? basically i need a parts list, so when i get ready to yank this stuff out,i'll have everything. im a decent mechanic, and i have two other decent mechanics helping.. yes senoirs in high school, but still.. we've built a rat rod from the ground up.. and is it possible to get this done in a weekend?

alright well let me tell you my advice to you would be to get a cheap car thats the same make as yours cheap and just take the parts off of that car I think that would be your best bet but I'm looking up some shit for you you'r lucky I'm bored lol

alright well here is what you need not everything but some
tranny, ecu, driveshaft, master & slave cylinder, lines, clutch kit, flywheel, 3rd pedal, shifter,
as for the ECU you don't neccesarily have to remove it but I know it makes it easier. I'm pretty sure an automatic ECU still retains things like the rev limiter and things like that but I'm not 100% sure but thats a start hopefully someone else can tell you the other stuff

honestly though I know its expensive the 300 dollars probably won't cover nearly any of the things you need from what I know usually people spend about 2,000 dollars to swap thats why I havn't done it.

alright I talked to my friend and he said the biggest problem he had was the starter is in a diffeent position in an AUtomatic in your yr sentra so that was the biggest problem he had. He emailed me all the shit he thinks you'll need here,
Parts Needed:
5spd tranny (try and get the I30 LSD or Canadian Maxima LSD if possible – doubt it)
Both Manual drive shafts (if you have ABS you need specific ones, if you don't have ABS you can use ABS ones)
1 clutch kit (clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing)
2 shifting rods (support rod + control rod) (acquire used w/ all the hardware)
Return spring (connect to the 2 shifting rods (Buy this new, the stiffer the tighter your shifter feels)
1 5spd starter
1 shifter (Acquire used to get nuts and bolts (buy with the shifter rods)
1 shifter console piece (interior)
1 shift consul bracket (Replaces your auto one) (interior) (dealer name plate bolt and transaxle hole cover)
1 brake pedal
1 clutch pedal
1 master cylinder
Hydraulic lines for clutch
1 slave cylinder for clutch
1 extra set of tranny harnesses (might come w/ 5spd tranny)
1 18ga wire and wiretaps
Assorted cotter pin set.
1 Manual Fly wheel
1 Manual motor mount
Tranny Fluid (GL-4 or redline is preferable)
Locking pin and clip for the clutch pedal to the master cylinder (you could bend a nail but I would go to the dealer and pay $4)
2 nuts that fit the threads on the clutch pedal.
1 bolt that bolts in the top of the clutch pedal (the dealer can find it's size for you)
1 bolt that connects the control rod to the tranny (the dealer can find it's size for you)
1 Haynes Manual just in case you need extra help
there ya go hope that helps lol
