Ok...i know im in the supra forum...no bias please :D

Im from Sydney Australia, and im looking at spending around 35000 on a car...
My choice...a second hand MY2001 WRX...or a 94 Twin Turbo Supra.

Now...upsides of WRX:

Quite new, turbo, blah blah blah

Downside: UGLY

Upsides of Supra...

Upside: GOOD LOOKING, Twin Turbo, blah blah blah

Downside: Quite Old...

i would prefere the supra, more style and speed. but the wrx handles better and wont drink as much petrol, its whatever you prefere.

go for the supra- its gorgeous and fast as hell!! the wrx may handle a little better but like u said urself, its ugly. :silly2: but supras do still handle pretty damn well!!!!! so yeah, i definatly suggest the supra!!;)

there no reason you should be asking this question... supra all the way

i take it you mean just a plain WRX. in which case i would say Supra. it has an extra "something". if you are looking to tiune the car, then a Supra without question, even above special edition Scoobys

if u want a faster 0-60mph and handling go for the Subaru WRX
for top speed and looks go for the supra

Supras just look like another ricer. True theyre actually very fast but WRX just has history and is classier. I would say for an older WRX though because they are much nicer to look at.

Oh and on the special edition WRX note if you could afford it then 22b all the way that even beats the Supra in looks.

Personally, I would go for the WRX, but I live in the US and to find a Supra in good condition for that amount of money is a bit hard. I'm also a bit more of a track man, not a drag racer, so that 4 wheel drive on the WRX makes a lot of sense. And I don't mind how the 2001 WRX looks. Another point- everyone would love a Supra, but how many modded WRXs do you see? I you really want to stand out, go for the WRX.

it all comes down to what kind of a racer are you? drag or autocross/track?

drag race... definitly the supra
track event... harder to decide since supra can be a track event car too
autocross, definitly WRX... but why just plain WRX? go STi...

hehe what do u mean how many modded WRXs do u see .... i live in the UK and u see a lot more modded WRXs than supras hehe

myself i would go for the supra ... WRX is jsut too common and boring :)

hey i raced one last weekend from a 80mph roll. lets just say he could tell me if my tail light was out!!! lol. i have a N/A 5spd supra with just an intake! no competition from the line though.

Supra my man, we have a rex and its not really that fast, and the 4 banger cant take a whole lot more boost. Supra can cross the 1k hp barrier with a built motor. Thats alot of power, trust me. Problem is gas consumption and tickets. I've driven an MKIV with a twin HKS GT ball bearing conversion pushing around 1000hp. 60 mph seems damn slow, and you can pass someone doing 100 like thier standing still. Its unreal.

HANDS DOWN PICK THE SUPRA IT HAS GREAT POTENTIAL , 1000+ AND IT'S MORE AROEDYNAMIC ALLOWING FOR HIGHER SPEEDS SOMETHING THE SUPRA IS KNOWN FOR.:ylsuper

Yeah, too bad the 4 banger can't take a lot more boost- which is total bull. I've seen a 740 whp WRX with a 10 second quarter @ 140 mph ( in some Auto magazine, too, so its not just idle speculation). Just a question- can you boost a Supra to 14 psi on stock internals? I don't think so, but that's what the Rex runs. Plus, I've read on the WRX forum here that some fool overboosted his Impreza 23 psi, and it didn't detonate on him (stock internals, folks). So anyway, if you want all out hp, I would go for a Supra. Track/autocrosses, tho- WRX. Or if you can afford it, a Skyline. Now those are nice .

i have no biased what so ever in this but as far as supra vs. wrx it does all depend on what you want to do but as to which is the better car supra but money is a big issue with them at every direction and with stock internals they can run 600 hp and not even blink wont even make a difference to it ive heard japanese who know they wont have theyre car for long tune to 900 and not waste money on building up the engine for it plus the toyota factor which means this car isnt just looks thi car is quality the wrx has 4 wheel drive which insures a good launch 4 cylinders means again faster acceleration off the line thoe neon looking headlights and the fact that most people i know agree if youre gonna get a wrx why not get a lancer instead are the downsides its a rally proven car thats pretty reliable itself requiring low maitenence so far the car youre looking at is pretty new and therefor has not stood the test of time but thats also a plus compared to you not know what the supra has been through already and if you buy the rex you should have a chunk of cash left over to put into the car

think about this though how often do you seen a wrx and then how often do you see a turboed supra ofcourse the supra probably going to fast for you to see

You have a 460bhp WRX? Who does your work? There arent too many imprezas pushing that power in the UK. I may have seen your car at various meets before. Did you do "Ten of the Best"?

What Supra did you drive? I have only ever heard of 1 1000bhp Supra in the UK, that has not yet been completed i dont think.
