Ok, next installment - this was my May build and my first attempt at doing a little custom work instead of straight out the box.
Tamiya Golf V5 painted in Vauxhall rembrandt silver (looks gold to me!)and pearl clear.

Custom work:
Black painted VW badges - slighty funny story, painted both then when trying to attach one flew out of the tweezers and disappeared onto the carpet - searched for ages but nothing! The car was finished and sat for about two weeks when one day the second badge just caught my eye on the floor in a completely different part of the house - couldn't believe it, thought I'd never see it again!
Filled rear door handles and removed rear window pillar for stealth rear door look Alfa style (ok, so not quite real as window would no longer open but I prefer this cleaner look, was never a fan of 5 door golfs). Kinda wish now I'd cut the door pillars out and moved them back for actual 3 door conversion but got to start slowly! Door handle filling has sunk slightly but was my first filler attempt.
Also filled panel lines at bottom of front and rear bumpers for smoother fatter look and opended up front lower grilles and added mesh covers.
Black front lights - I love this look.
M3 style rear lights
Black 6 spoke rims courtesy of an old Alfa DTM kit I had kicking round since I was a kid! I love the black rim look - divided opinion amongst my friends.
Shocks are slammed as well for the lower more aggresive stance.
Interior is totally standard in semi gloss black for leather look.

I really like this kit and was pleased with the paint. I love the aggressive stance. I would of loved to hang a pair of pipes either side of the rear bumper R32 style but wasn't quite ready to take on challenge due to tiny existing exhaust and height that floorpan sits up inside the body. Maybe not a totally realistic build but I was very happy with the finished article - good start to mod'ing anyway

Tamiya basic putty was used - it does show in the right light.

So you did build it then after posting on where to find one..!! I wasn't expecting you to build it so soon..

Ride height is fantastic... But I'm not so sure about the missing door handles.. I think you should have moved the pillar and made it a three door, but still nice build. Front lights do look very nice, and the stance looks great..

Do you not attach the number plates? I tend to, if only to fill the viod it leaves if they are not attached.

Cheers guys, thought this thread waw about to drop off the first page with just one comment!

Mick - I plan to put number plates on all my kits one I perfect making my own UK plates. I've asked for help in doing this before but it seems those with the ability tend to hog it to themselves (mmmm my lovely Alps my preciousssss!) :)
I'll get round to adding them one day!
