Removing Rear Wheel Studs

How do i get out the rear wheel studs on 93 mitsubishi 3000gt non turbo?

well i assume you've cross-threaded a stud and want to replace it?

the studs are mounted to the hub. so remove the tire, remove the hub, then i guess beat the hell outta the stud that's screwed up???? na, i'm not sure if they're welded in there or what. [sidenote: 3sxperformance.com sells individual replacement wheel studs. like $4 a pop or something]. i'm sure that if you take the hub with wheel studs in it to a tire center, they could replace the stud for you for really cheap (less then 20 bucks) if not for free.

i pretty much just lubed up the bad stud and tapped it out with a ball peen, i left the hub on, and i went to pep boys and get the stud, last one they had too. But if anyone else has this problyem, just take the rotor off, soak the bad stud in DW-40 or some other rust loosener and tap it out with a ball peen, the worst i figure that could have happened is you might throw off your alignment a tad, but not much. Worst case scenario you get it realigned. I never worked on cars before in my life, in the past week, i rebuilt 2 calipers, replaced a rotor, and a rear wheel stud. The car rins fine too.

No way you could throw off your alignment tapping out a stud, no worries there. Pep Boys...good choice!

You could throw off your alignment, buts its extreamly unlikely.

I personally have came accross this problem twice... and both times the stud its self came loose leaving the lug on with the rim in the way. Impissible to get off with basic tools i had to use FIRE. yes i torched them both out... it was my last resort to the worst case senario. but in the end i got them switched out rim repaired and $200 later for a $5 part it was fix.
