2000 f250 steering problem

I own a 2000 f250 diesel 4x4 with 50,000 miles. It hunts the road real bad in both directions. We have had aligned more than once, we replaced ball joints and steering stabilizer, we put on new tires and we even switched tires and wheels from a truck that drove nice, and it didn't help either. Found another person that is in same situation today.Does anyone know, has Ford had any steering box problems or S.B. We have been fighting this squirley problem for a long time. Have talked to some Ford shops and sounds like there is some compliants even at the smaller dealers

I have been watching for a response to Dauercattle's post in Sept. of 05'. I am having the same loose steering problems with my 1999 F250 4x4. The alignment was checked and none was needed. We replaced the ball joints (nothing but dry dust in these joints - must have been built on Friday) as they were real bad. Then we added a steering stabilizer. Then I put on four new tires. Nothing has helped keep this F250 from wandering. I am considering buying a new steering box. The Ford dealership can't explain what's happening either. I took a used 2001 F250 4x4 for a test drive that was on their lot. It had loose steering just like my 1999. I told them no thanks on that pickup. There has to be more Ford owners out there that have experienced this problem! Is it the back axle shifting? Maybe a bad run in steering boxes from Ford? If you have a solution or idea on this problem, please respond to this message.
