all right guys i am scratching my head in alabama over 1990tc
my alternator had not been charging properly for the last month or so. so this morning when the car would not start i charged the battery and it started right off,
so I decided today was the day for me to get the altenator rebuilt
i disconnected the hot wire from the bsttery removed the two bolts that mount the alternator, unhooked my wires and took it to have it rebuilt.
upon return i degreased the motor and let it set for 15 minutes before hosing off. waited another thirty minutes before continuing.
i also reworked the cable end for the positive side of the battery, by cutting off the old hot post end and installed a new copper cable end by striping the 4ga starter wire and the 2 guage fusebox wire and clamping them together in a 6 ga cable end.
i replaced my alternator and reattached the wires and the car turns over super, but it want start.
what have i done to my car? any ideals? have i tripped a security breaker or something?
please help confused in alabama

I going to guess, somethings still wet?
Check for spark at the sparkplug ends of the wires.
On my 1996 I once got water under the plugwire boots, into the sparkplug wells. I only flooded 2 of the 8 by accident of course -- man did that run like shit. I didn't guess water was in there so it took awhile to find the problem.
Imagine if all 8 were wet!!
