air condition vent knocking

hello all I have a 2003 galant 4 cyl that started kocking in the air condition vent in the middle next to the hazzard light button so I played with the knobs & found if I turn the cold/hot knob two clicks off cold it would stop when I put it back to cold all the way it starts knocking again
any Ideas please thank you richram :confused: :confused:
