hi our 89rs camaro's problem of the week (and last week) is this stinkin vats. we got the resistor and all that, now he is to the part where you solder it. he can not do it!! it will not solder.
what is he doing wrong? we are stumped! if anyone has any kind of advice, please help. thanks, angela
also, he wants to know if the vats modual (sp) is to be open to get the car to start or shut?
by the way- some one tried to steal our car so we had to get a new sterring colum (sp) and ever since we have had nothing but a headache. boy would i love to get the punk that did this to us....
thanks guys

I believe the module is behind the kick panel on the drivers side.
If you're trying to solder, make sure that you are heating up both parts being joined, and allowing the solder to melt on them, don't just melt the solder or it will simply run off. You could also pick up a small tube of flux, which helps clean the surfaces to be soldered, and improves adhesion.
