98 montero, bad ABS sensor assembly

On my 98 montero sport I have my abs light on. When I was doing the brake job I saw why. The cable for the sensor is cut most of the way through. I tried splicing the cable but it still is bad. Mitsubisi wants an arm and a leg for this sensor assembly, does anyone know where I can get one of these aftermarket and keep ahold of some of my $$$$$$:2cents::2cents::2cents: Also, if the cable was cut with something that may have shorted it out, what are the chances my ABS controller may be damaged, are there any codes that can be read with an Actron OBDII scantool ?
