why do that there are very few H22's that can out run a GSR

yeah right. H22 in an integra will be way faster than a GSR. My bf has a GS integra, a '92. When his car was almost completely stock, he could hand GSR's thier asses. GSR's are not all that fast.
without having to buy the motor you'll spend about $2000 in parts (well atleast i was) but if you have to buy the motor you'll probably spend another $2000 for a COMPLETE motor. Now, i don't know how prices are around you, but i get all my shit fairly cheap. But it shouldn't cost more than any other swap, H22 are fairly cheap now.

Well its pretty much exactly the same as the Civic swap.
The best bits I can think of are the place racing mount kit, and Axles.
This way you dont have to mess around with making custom axles, and the place racing kit Iv seen on an EK Civic retained the A/C and power steering.
Theres some rewiring required, but you already have VTEC etc, so its not that bad. With all the right bits its maybe a weeks work in your garage, or several days for a mechanic who know's what he's doing.
Your biggest advantage over dropping one into a Civic is you already have bigger brakes. I would personal get better pads, and look at larger discs, say off an Accord, but they will handle the extra speed better than stock Civic brakes.
And since the suspensin is set up slightly diffrently it should handle the extra hp and weight with far less fuss than the Civic's do. (think less Wheel spin. :) )

hehe i was thinkin bout somethin... remember when we were talkin about how you liked it in the accord... well think of it this way... think how much less the teg weighs then the accord also... sooooo even better right? i am still callin the installer... but i will make him hook up a good price cause he would be doin both swaps at once.

No they're not, a GSR with a really good driver will hang with a 4th gen vtec prelude or a 5th gen prelude, but there's no way they'll beat one. Prelude's have really strong second and third gears. I think they pull 15.3/15.4 1/4 mile times if I'm correct....

I saw a 00 Civic Si with H22 Swap. It beats a Type R with engine work. It pulled it by 3 car space. From what I know was used to do the swap was the full H22motor, tranny, Ecu, and engine harness shift linkeage, and axles , If you decides to go with A/C then better get the aftermarket small clearance fans cause the the alternator and A/C compressor will be on the way. Its a lot of work!!! I am sure that the set up moreless similar from civics towards integras.

I agree on u upon that H22 are lot cheaper then getting GS-R motor. However its a lot of work to make that H22 run right in an integra. I know someone who did that swap on a 00 Civic Si with H22. It beats a Type R with fully built motor by 3 car space. My friend took me on a ride with that civic. It pulled a mustang Gt 4 car space.

wrong.
i handed gsr's their asses when my car ran like crap...old as hell fuel filter and busted ass O2 sensors...now that it runs fine, it becomes an even bigger margin. now think about that same motor in a car that weighs significantly less (not sure how much a teg weighs). kind of makes you say hmmmmmm

I personally think GS-R definitely beats H22 preludes. My friends stock 01 Gs-R pulls preludes and TL non Type S. This other guy I know has a 95 GS-R pulled an accord with H22 by 3 car space on highway. I saw it with my own eyes. Besides Accord is heavier then preludes. I only prelude stands the chance is the 4th gen preludes cause its higher. The 5 gen forget it!!!

listen to what youve just said...'personally i think gs-r definately beats H22 preludes.' youre obviously not sure of yourself, and you shouldnt be.
'I only prelude stands the chance is the 4th gen preludes cause its higher. The 5 gen forget it!!'
and wtf does that mean?!?!? oh so now we measure how fast cars are by how 'high' it is? i guess that means the ford focus wins the compact car speed battle, but surely itll never keep up with the mighty mack 18 wheeler at over 10 FEET TALL...
learn to type. be sure of yourself. then come back it up with a valid arguement, not some incoherant bs. theres no personal opinion in how quick cars are. never has been and never will be. show me numbers. heres mine...

the faster gs-r's (93) ran high 6's to 60 and high 15's in the quarter. do the research bud.

OK..after reading your guys comments and hearing all this bickering, my swapped JDM h22, with the h23 ECU(NO VTEC) hung on the back bumper of a GSR...when my ECU gets put in...I'll kill the GSR. But back on topic, i've heard the H22 in an integra offers a big improvement, however, the steering gets sloppy bekuz the H22 does weigh a lil more than a B18 or B17. If ur goin in a str8 line fast, ur good, don't try to whip turns at 40 like i can do in my prelude. :grinno: Another thing for the price, it'll cost u a nice penny for motor, tranny, axles, ecu, and mounts. Also, if u carry a couple extra pounds like me, u're gonna miss your air conditioning in the summer. Tho it is winter now, i live in FLORIDA and its not uncommon for it to reach into the low 80s in Dec & Jan. I LOVE MY A/C....and i know my fellow fatboys love it too! :smokin:
PS - Its ur money, its ur car, i've seen some bad ricer cars, and i can imagine urs can't look worse than theirs. :2cents:

h22 are only good for going in a straight LINE
im really sick of hearing this...
i dont want to come in here and just start flaming relentlessly on everyone, but theres some things that need to be know...because i used to have this misconception about 'h22's.'
first off dont just say h22's are only good for a straight line car. what about my prelude? what about the type-s prelude? those cars have h22's and they are some of the best handling cars on the road. if you mean a civic with a swapped h22, then say a civic with a swapped h22 is only good for a straight line car...
second, civics with h22's CAN be made to handle just like they would stock or even better with the right amount of work/money. in fact, i have heard from many people on here that with simply stock springs from an integra, a civic will deal with the extra weight fine (it is only like an extra 150 lbs, were not talking 400 or 500 lbs here). and if youre spending the money to do this conversion (to the h22), why not do it right and upgrade your suspension also?
now back to the heart of this thread...this guy is talking about putting an h22 in his integra already, which i have the understanding that the teg is better built to handle this kind of weight already...
as for the gsr v. h22 prelude arguement...im sticking to my guns. my stock lude will take gsr's. now a gsr v. swapped h22 civic/teg...no question the civic/teg is gonna win all day long (that is, if the driver is decent and the swap is done right). youre talking about a car with a 170hp engine running against a car with the same, or VERY similar weight, and a 195 hp engine (USDM h22a4). now wheres the logic?

well, they must have had vtec stickers on their car and no vtec under the hood or sometihng, because my 3rd gen RS with I/H/E wasted a 2nd gen GS with I/E. not even close.
are you sure his isnt a 92 GS... R! because then hed be able to BARELY beat newer GSR's.
and as far as the swap dont you have to get a shifter and cables out of a lude or accord and drill holes in the firewall and mount it all in the teg. doesnt sound too hard, but just to make sure you knew. and isnt the H22 only like 70 or so pounds heavier than the B18?

I LOVE MY A/C....and i know my fellow fatboys love it too! :smokin:
yea, i'm a fellow fatboy. i love my a/c too, but the only reason i dont run it as much is because of the gas it burns. on to the topic at hand, if swapping the h22 into an integra is anything like swapping it into a civic, prepare to spend some serious money. i've been looking into buying another car cause i want a stick and i was gonna do an h22 civic. after i priced everything i came up with these numbers. and remember, these are just most of the basics that you will need.
motor (w/ everything): avg. 2,000
custom mounts: 500
custom axels: 900
lowering springs (needs to be dropped at least 2" to help compensate for the extra weight in the front): 100+ (for a decent set and dont all of a sudden start talking about eBay this and that.)
brake upgrade (help stop that extra hundred or so pounds): varies
cooling system: varies
then i went up to a shop Kartec and they told me that if i bring everything, they would put it in for 1,000. now, dont get me wrong, it would most likely be well worth it, but make sure you have the dedication towards it.
also, place racing (or something like that) is the only company i've seen where you can use their custom mounts and still retain A/C, but to my knowledge, whether you go w/ place racing or HP, you will have to remove powersteering.
