wont go into reverse

This has only happened to me twice now, i have put the truck into reverse but it doesn't engage. It just rolls back like it's in neutral and giving it gas doesnt do anything. If i put it in park and back into reverse it engages fine, that works every time. Any ideas?

since I do not have any information about your truck, I would check the fluid level......
