OHV to DOHC Conversion

Hey, If you don't know squat about Pontiac, ignore this message:

I'm looking for a (New or Used) DOHC Cylinder Head for a Pontiac Fiero 4 Cylinder, the Pistons, and/or the Piston Rods that come with it.

Anyone who has HotRod Magazine October 1987 knows what I'm talking about.

The engine was in S-10's, Grand Am's and maybe Grand Prix too (and GM clones of those), and all years of Pontiac Fieros.

It's a OHV in its stock form, which is a truck engine producing 96HP and 138LBS/FT of Torque. But with the DOHC upgrade to 16V and 3.0 Liters, it produces close to 500HP, N/A, No turbo or NOS. It takes about 1000 miles of breaking-in to get it to that kind of power, but hell, imagine if it did have a turbo with intercooler, and NOS too! (Can you say 900HP?)

Any info is appreciated!

Yeah, Roush has one I think. I saw an ad from them in HotRod Magazine a month or two ago. I'll get back to you to confirm.

thanks, this would be a major help, raise my hp and torque to roughly 245-255, and would be a major improvement

Yeah, the DOHC 32V Dominator heads for Chevy SB's give you a 125HP gain, making the Z06 go from 405 to 530, which is the same as what the new supercharger kit does for it. So add another 125HP, thats 655HP in a Vette!!!!!

Now before you go getting new heads, try to pump some HP out of the OHV thing you already have. New, cam, new lifters, port the heads, get high compression pistons. There's lots of stuff!

E-mail me at [email protected] for more info on OHV stuff.
