Hey sup. I was thinkin about doin the WHOLE type r suspension conversion on my rex? Can it be done? If so , should i take it to the shop and let them do it or is it easy to do it yourself? I also want to know if its worth it? Thanks

Hehe, haven't heard of that one before. First off I would like to ask why??? Well I'm sure a better suspension can be obtained with new springs, shocks, coilover, anti-roll bars, strut bars, etc then swapping out for the type-r parts. I can see upgrading if you are an auto-xer but it seems like to much work for nothing better than what aftermarket can support. As for dealing with suspension...do it yourself man shops charge outragoues prices for doing simple things that anyone with knowledge and courage could figure out. To put it simply....NOT WORTH IT.

From what i understand the 88" CRX Si suspsension is almost identical to the suspension on a type-r. I would have to also say that it would be more work that it's worth. I hate saying that b/c i hate it when people tell me that sorry.

I have upgraded my suspension. Neuspeed springs and koni yellows and i'm very happy with those also. I dont know what the hell i was thinkin. I'm just gonna keep my set up the way how it is.

Yeh thats the reason i asked. I know i saw it on the 5th gen hatchie somewhere. Well if its easy to do then i'll do it myself i guess. If its too expensive then fuck it i'm just gonna stick with my set up.:D

Yea, for the trouble its worth you could eaisly build a suspenion on a 4th gen civic/CRX that would beat another 4th gen with just ITR suspenion parts. The ITR shocks and spring are tuned FOR THE INTEGRA...keep in mind our cars are lighter and have a shorter wheel base compared to the integra. If I had like a new 99-00 Si yea thats much closer to the Integra R than our cars, I could see doin it to a new Si but not our years. Check out Progress coilovers, my friends CRX has Progress coilovers, their rear sway bar, then neuspeed front and rear strut bars and urathane bushings. Aside from the lack of Power and brakes a ITR has, i would say it eaisly handles better than one (i've driven both, not that the ITR sucks...this CRX is that damn good lol). So you can build something for even less than that and still get good handling, keep in mind...we have light cars...we will always have a handling advantage ;)

BTW, if you really want suspension parts of a Integra R...get the brakes...dear lord you'll be unstoppable...or stoppable however that works out lol. LOVE the brakes on those cars.

Yeh i have decided that i shouldn't do the conversion. I mean i spent almost a "g" on my suspension already! Anyways about the brakes.. how can i convert it? Do i need the whole arm or what? I just need to know the front conversion not the back. Thanks

Good thing I checked this forum; I almost posted this in the "General" ~ LOL!

Daylight & I have been wondering about this swap for - seems like - forever. I found this on Urban Racer & even found a pic (that I've got somewhere & will post later) of a 4g h/b with the ITR suspension/wheels.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to do this conversion. Practicle or not, it looks bad ass. Anyone know specifics? Now that I know it is possible, I just gotta figure out how!!!
