If he's gonna pay someone to do it, he might as well just get a premade one. It won't be great quality, but if you aren't handy enough to do things yourself, you end up spending big bucks.

Do a search on google for "build sub box". I'm sure you'll get 100s of write-ups. It's really not that hard. Cut some boards, nail them together, caulk up the seams, put your sub in. You're done. Should only take a couple of hours.

If you do build your own, don't put your sub in the box permanantly until 24-48 hours(a little extreme, but you wanna be safe)after you have put in the caulking. The vapors will eat away your voice coils.

For one premade boxes never even get close to the specs for a sub so you wont get the potential needed. That and prefab boxes suck, edesigns can build one for you if you had one of there subs but they can get expensive. ITs really easy to make a box the only tools you would need would be a drill, jigsaw and some hardware, you can get the wood cut at lowes or home depot just give them the dimensions you need. You can use plywood but mdf is much better, you can get the driver specs off of the company website and some on here can design you a box.
