98 ford ranger transmission converter clutch

My o/d light came on so I had the codes checked. Code po741 came up. I was told my torque converter clutch was stuck off and needed a new tranny. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the tranny? Tranny still seems to work good. Will it hurt it any if I just keep driving it with the light on? It has 125000 miles on it.

If its just your torque converter then you wont need a new tranny.
