I do not believe that the bracket in that picture will fit the mass air sensor in your marquis. I have a 94' and I've been looking around forever for a CAI but could not find one.

From what I have found, putting an adapter to the current setup will allow a butt load more air into your car, but at the same time you will be sucking in warm (not usually hot) air from the engine.

For right now, I just cut out my air box bottom and dropped a K&N flat filter in. Doing very well.

Here is a link to a site that makes the correct bracket for your cars MAF.

http://www.blueovalchips.com/mafadapter.php

Its near the bottom, you will be able to tell when you see it.

Don't get me wrong, its better than your stock airbox, and I will soon be doing that very soon. However, your car might run a very very very small amount higher which might take away your MPG. It depends on where you live. Im in Florida so I get alot of hot air, but as soon as winter comes, I;m going to be cruising.

Hope this helps.

something like that on your car would suck in so much hot air, that it would hurt your mpg. it would not gain you any hp, though it would sound cool.

if you want to increase mpg, do a fulllllllllll tune up

Its been tested that a cone filter and a new MAF has improved quarter mile time by .75th of a second. So I know that it does gain HP. It really depends on where you drive it.

It would be hard for me to tell because I live in florida, but up north, I figure you would see some nice improvment.s

with a new(upgraded) maf, you will also need a custom performance chip. all 3 work together to get the gains.

Not necessarily, the new MAF will provide all the new accurate readings for the central computers main code allowing it to work properly. Ive don't extensive research into getting a chip for the car, and I have come to the conclusion that you will gain approx. 10-15 HP tops with a new fuel system and of course 93 octane fuel.

Chipping the car is a last resort, you can do much much more to the car and see performance enhancments rather than buy a chip. Its available, but its not necessary.

Edit: Also, we are talking about an 1992 car, whereas some of the new Crown Vics and Marquis are different and if chipped will provide more power than 10-15 HP. I have a 94' so we could be comparing apples and oranges.
