Recalls "don't know you". They are recalls of a vehicle. They don't care who owns them - its about safety - not warranties.

I checked GM's owner center at their website and actually called my service man at my local dealer. He said if they have a recall that they announced today, that 1) you should get a notice in the mail, and 2) it will be between 6 - 8 weeks before you are notified and are able to take the truck in

I had/have this problem and they charge me 50 bucks for the warranty,I hope i can get my 50 bucks back,i wonder if i can get the other 40 back too because they inspected the brake pads...My problem was everytime i was would slow down not braking hard or nothing the antilock brake would go off,And scares the crap outta me.Nothing like trying to stop when there a car infront of you and your brakes are jerking up and down like a bitch.Anyways when i took it in there and they did whatever they did(nothing) it seem to went away. After it went away i just forgot about.I have a 02 silverado.

I heard about this recall on the news last night, and according to them, its only for trucks in the Northern US. Something to do with salt corroding the ABS units or something.....

Unfortunately this still doesn't deal with the ABS pump issue that so many of the '99s have. Still holding off on that repair, hoping for a recall.

:nono: They'll have to recall all of them. They can't isolate by geography. :nono: That would preclude someone moving into tha t area if it's a weather problem and yes it does have something to do with carrosion. That was announced 3-4 months ago.

What states are considered "Rust Belt" states?? Iowa???

Any state where beer is served to rednecks...(my appologies, I couldn't resist that one).

Well that ain't the way it's working at the moment - just had this problem fixed by the dealer for $300. Called him up and said - hey there's a recall - gimme my money back -
He said Wisconsin is not included in the recall at this time. What a bunch of bullshit! They use tons of salt here. I can only hope they add Wisconsin to the list.
This is total BS.

Once the recall goes out, he will have recourse. An individual dealership can not void a factory recall. Again, they can't go geographic. What they can do id go by where the vehicle was assembled or where the caoncerned part(s) came from. If one factory does it right and another wrong...only the vehicles from the wrong one will probably be recalled... maybe... probably???

Did you just make that up?

No...I read about it in Rolling Stone Magazine!!! I took a couple of legal courses in college and some things are easy to put together. The other part is when dealing with shaddy people and dealers, it you talk like you know what you're doing, they often believe that you do, but I am right on this one!!!

So did anyone do it yet ? I called them a couple weeks ago and they told me they didn't know nothing about it yet. They told me it would probably be 4-6 weeks.

There's not much any of them can or will do until the recall officialy goes out. Patience...I guess!!
