Five Dead After Nine-Hour Standoff In Rural Texas Town
http://media.graytvinc.com/images/policeHX1.jpg Five people were dead and one was wounded Monday after a bloody shooting rampage in a rural Red River Valley community overnight.
The rampage started Sunday night as evening services were under way at the Sash Assembly of God church, about 80 miles north of Dallas.
document.write('');Fannin County sheriff's officials say two people in the Sash Assembly of God church were killed and another was wounded when a man opened fire on the congregation.
The gunman also shot and killed two women who were in a vehicle outside the church.
Then the gunman fled to his home nearby and held deputies and police at bay for nine hours.
Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore says the man was found dead Monday morning evidently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
How could someone do this. This happened just walking distance from my home sunday night. One of tha men killed was tha paster. Tha two women that were killed were just leaving tha area after a long day of horsback riding. They were on there way home..Tha gun man chased this woman I know threw our woods shooting at her. She made it out alive, thank God. Tha man was crazy, People had called tha cops on him several times in tha past and told tha cops that something like this was gonna happen. One guy told tha cops last month that they needed to do something or he was gonna take him out himself. Tha cops said they cant do a thing till something actualy happens, now look 4 innosent people are dead cuz tha cops refused to listen. This sickens me and saddens me.
